I am Matthieu, a photographer and filmmaker living on Bora Bora since 2012.

Two decades of assignments in hospitality, travel and private celebrations have shaped a calm, adaptable way of working. I prepare carefully, keep direction simple and remain attentive to the people, weather and changing light around me.

Capturing Bora Bora Through Photography, Film & Drone

Light, weather and the rhythm of each assignment determine how I work. I choose the medium that best serves the story:

• wedding and couple photography
• resort and hospitality imagery
• short cinematic films
• aerial views when conditions and permissions allow

The result should feel specific to the people and place, not like a formula applied to every project.

My first years in French Polynesia were spent teaching diving and working close to the ocean. That experience taught me patience, situational awareness and respect for changing conditions.

Those habits still guide every assignment today: observe first, anticipate quietly and step in only when clear direction will help.

Before the session, I clarify the schedule, priorities and access conditions. On the day, I keep the atmosphere relaxed, give concise direction when it is useful and otherwise let events unfold.

My editing stays natural: accurate colour, considered contrast and no heavy effects that will date quickly. The aim is a coherent set of photographs or film that reflects what the experience actually felt like.
