Late afternoon creates a warmer, more romantic atmosphere. A session can begin while the lagoon is still bright and continue into golden hour and sunset. Midday light can make the turquoise water look spectacular, but it is stronger and less forgiving for portraits. I recommend the timing according to your resort, the season, cloud cover and the direction of the light.

What to Wear for Bora Bora Photographs

Light fabrics move beautifully in the island breeze. Neutral colours, soft pastels, earth tones and simple tropical shades photograph well against blue water and green landscapes. Coordinating colours is usually more natural than wearing identical outfits.

Avoid large logos, very busy patterns and anything that feels uncomfortable in warm weather. Bare feet are often perfect on the beach. If your collection allows enough time, a second outfit can add variety: one relaxed look and one more elegant option for sunset.

It is booked separately from photography or video, and flights always depend on safety, wind, rain, local regulations and resort permission. When conditions are not suitable, the priority remains creating strong imagery from the ground and on the water.

How Long Should a Session Be?

A short session can work well for a couple who wants a focused collection in one location. More time allows a slower rhythm, outfit changes, multiple settings and a greater variety of candid and editorial images. Weddings, elopements and experiences involving a boat or motu naturally require a longer plan.

The goal is not to fill every minute with poses. Enough time creates space for real interaction, small pauses and photographs that feel like you.

What Happens if It Rains?

Tropical weather can change quickly in Bora Bora. A passing shower does not always mean the session must be cancelled; soft clouds can create flattering light, and rain often clears faster than expected. I monitor local conditions and stay flexible whenever the schedule allows.

If the weather becomes unsafe or persistent, we discuss the best available alternative. Clear communication and a realistic backup plan are especially important for proposals and sessions scheduled near the end of a stay.
